    What’s the Walmart Point System?

Walmart’s attendance policy includes the Walmart Point System. This system aims at disincentivizing associates from tardiness, or sudden absences.

This was revised in 2019 with employees receiving a maximum of five points. Associate who receives more than five points will be fired.

Associates who are late to work will not be awarded a point.

Additionally, those that leave shifts early might expect to receive half a point, while unexpected absences during the holiday period could result in a maximum of three points.

How To Report An Absence/Lateness At Walmart?

To report an absence or if you are running late, associates will have to go to the OneWalmart website and register their absence through the designated portal.

They can also call Walmart Associate Information Line at 1-800-775-5944, or contact the Walmart Store to notify the manager of duty you are late.

Walmart: How long do points last?

Walmart Associate’s tenure at Walmart does not allow for continuous accrual of points.

In order to ensure fairness and allow for unexpected obligations or emergencies, associates’ points are reset every six months.

The points system doesn’t count authorized absences. Walmart employees will not lose their jobs if the company has five or more missed shifts within a six-month span.

  • Funerals
  • Hospital-related Accommodation
  • FMLA Leave
  • Walmart Allows How Many Absences

Associate will be awarded a maximum three point bonus for any unexpected absences that occur during holidays shifts, according to the Walmart points system.

A person who is absent from trading during the standard trading period will get one point. Walmart considers an absence when a person is absent for less than half the time of their scheduled shift.

Depending on what type of absence they have, associates may be granted up to five days before being fired.

Oder, they might be absent from both one holiday and two standard shifts. Unexpectedly missing from more than one holiday shift, the employee will be fired.

    Walmart Rewarding Good Attendance

Walmart offers associates the opportunity to be recognized for their attendance.

Every quarter, both part-time Walmart workers and full-time Walmart employees will be eligible for higher cash bonuses.

Employees with perfect attendance records are eligible for an extra 25% bonus in their quarterly bonuses. An increase in bonus might also be possible for those with just one or two points.

Walmart quarterly bonuses are distributed based on a number of factors, the main one being store performance. Since the introduction of attendance bonuses in 2019, hourly associates have received nearly $800 million worth of bonuses.

    Walmart: How to Get In?

Whether or not you turn up to your shift late, Walmart employees will be expected to clock in for their shift using the GTA Time Clock app.

The GTA Time Clock users must sign in using OneWalmart. You will then be asked for a password and unique user ID in order to prove your identity.

After logging in, the user can simply select “Clock In”, to begin their shift. Or, if they are already clocked in, they can select the “Meal Start,” “Meal End,” and “Clock Out” options as appropriate.

  • Walmart’s late policy relies on points. The maximum number of points that associates can earn for arriving late, missing or not being able to work on shifts is three. Maximum they will receive in six months is five points before their termination.

This policy was created to reduce tardiness. However, the policy also rewards those that run on-time, with Walmart offering increased quarterly bonuses to those with few to no points.
