IKEA provides a vast selection of furniture, including furniture for bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms.

However, it is possible that some of the items you purchase at IKEA will need to be returned, even those that were assembled. Here is everything I have managed to find out about returning assembled furniture to IKEA!

IKEA Reclaims Assembled Furniture 2022

IKEA allows you to return assembled furniture, including tables, chairs, tables tables, couch, table, desks and coffee tables as well cabinets. IKEA accepts all furniture pieces that have been assembled within 365 calendar days after purchase, provided that a receipt is presented or proof of purchase and a photograph ID are included.

Does IKEA Have a Furniture Return Pick Up Service?

If you have a single person, then you will need to drag the item all the way from your car to the Returns Desk.

IKEA’s pickup returns service is available for both small and large furniture.

This service can cost anywhere from $50 to $300 and isn’t free.

Is IKEA Furniture Requirements to be Disassembled Before I Can Return It?

To return IKEA furniture, it doesn’t have to be dismantled.

IKEA will accept any assembled furniture item as long it’s in good shape and received within 365 calendar days.

What happens to an item that has been assembled?

Many IKEA stores have accessible ‘As-is’ areas that customers can browse through at their leisure.

There are discounts as high as 50% on the original cost in these zones. Items sold here may be damaged products from the shop or items that were assembled and then returned.

You can buy these items already assembled, since many IKEA pieces are difficult to disassemble.

IKEA can also take new-in box items. These can then be added back to your inventory. Items that are disassembled or damaged may be sent to IKEA for disposal.

IKEA is also against bargaining and bartering for these products. Their prices are firm, but mostly incredibly fair.

IKEA allows you to return damaged goods if you can provide proof of identity, receipts or order confirmations, as well as the original packaging.

If your item has clearly been damaged by customer misuse or mishandling, then it may not be taken back at all, so do be careful when assembling furniture, as you may run the risk of not being able to return anything you need to.

IKEA will accept returns on items that have not been received?

IKEA won’t generally accept returns without a clearly legible receipt or another proof of purchase.

You may lose proof of purchase if IKEA employees discover that your card or card is not matched to transactions in the past 365 calendar days.

IKEA may be open to allowing returns beyond the standard 365 days, however, this is at the discretion of the manager, so it cannot be relied upon.
