What are the best places to use an EBT card?

Food stamps can normally be used for food shopping in grocery stores. Therefore, many restaurants do not accept EBT as payment. EBT is accepted at many restaurants, however.

EBT can be accepted in fast-food restaurants, but this will change depending on whether the state has an RMP.

Currently, the list of states that participate in an RMP is quite short therefore limiting the options.

For now, though, many states don’t offer this program. EBT payments cannot be accepted at most restaurants nationwide.

Subway is a part of the Restaurant Meals program?

Subway was included in the RMP’s approved fast food restaurants list. California, Arizona, Rhode Island and Rhode Island are these states.

If you happen to be at a Subway in one of these participating states, you can look for a knife and fork logo on the door or window, which indicates whether or not the Subway accepts EBT.

EBT acceptance at Subway can also be determined by the text “EBT accepted” posted in windows or other locations.

Can You Buy Cooked Food With An EBT Card?

A general rule is that an EBT card should only be used to purchase non-cooked food. To make it even more complicated, there are many approved foods.
