What’s the problem with using a Mastercard credit card at Costco Gas?

Costco signed an exclusive Visa contract that forbids the use of any other credit card network, such as Mastercard or Discover.

To be eligible to get a Costco Anywhere Visa credit/credit card, you must have either a Visa or Costco Anywhere Visa debit card.

Does Costco require a Costco membership to receive gas with my credit card?

You must be a Costco member to purchase gas from Costco using your credit card.

You will be required to swipe your membership card prior to you can use your payment method. A membership card is required before you can get gas.

If you use your Costco Shop Card, you don’t need a Membership card to fill up for gas.

Does Costco Gas Accept Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or Google Pay?

Costco allows near-field communication to be used on gas pumps.

It allows customers to make contactless payments using Apple Pay or Samsung Pay.

You can use your debit or credit card’s tap function to access the pump.

You should be aware that Costco does not accept Visa credit cards if you choose to use Apple Pay or another similar service.
