Amazon is an e-commerce company that has changed the way consumers shop online. It’s one of the biggest names in retail.

What Age Does Amazon Hire? (15, 16, 17, Warehouse + More)

Amazon shoppers are not the only ones who want to work for Amazon. Perhaps you are curious about the age limit for Amazon employees.

  • This was the question I sought to answer so I did some research and was surprised at all that I learned about Amazon’s age requirements for warehouse- and delivery workers.
  • Amazon Hires at What Age in 2022

Amazon will only employ people aged 18 and over as of 2022. Amazon states that they won’t employ younger teens such as 15-16-year-olds or 17-year olds for safety reasons. Teens can apply to work in Amazon warehouses or as delivery drivers once they turn 18. Each employee must have the legal right to work in the United States.

  • For more information on Amazon employment age requirements including how old Amazon employees warehouse workers to hire and if teens are allowed to work in the Amazon warehouse, please read this article!
  • Is it possible to work at Amazon if you are 17 years old?

Amazon’s age limitations also apply to those who are 17 years of age.

Because most labor laws have stringent regulations for minors, it’s just not worth it for Amazon to take the risk and hire anyone younger.

Amazon.com is not an option for 17 year-olds seeking work. The good news? Many other companies will hire these teens.

McDonald’s, CVS, Walgreens, and Dollar Tree are just a few examples of well-known businesses that accept applications from people under 18.

Also, keep in mind that Amazon asks for a high school diploma or GED from all applicants.

However, even for those 17-year olds who have graduated earlier than expected, applicants must wait until 18 years of age to start applying and working at Amazon.

What Age Does Amazon Hire Warehouse Workers?

Only people aged 18 and up can work at these warehouses, where there’s a complex system of machinery and technology to ensure extreme efficiency.

Once people turn 18, they can take advantage of the thousands of openings at Amazon warehouse locations, including entry-level team member roles, customer service jobs, and operations manager positions.

Amazon pays a minimum $15 an hour for a job, making it attractive to those who are graduating high school or nearing graduation.

In order to be allowed to work at Amazon warehouses close to your home, you will need to show proof of age and ID such as a driver’s permit.

You will need to provide personal information in addition to verifying your education status. This can be a GED or high school diploma.

Amazon Warehouse Jobs are great for those over 18 because they require only basic skills.

  • According to Amazon’s official job site, www.amazon.jobs/, all applicants “must be able to understand and adhere to all safety requirements.”
  • Amazon fulfillment centers offers jobs for those aged 18 to 35 who are interested in warehouse work with high-paying, competitive benefits.

Amazon, unlike other stores, is open to hiring. If you are willing and capable of working hard, you may be hired for a role in a warehouse.

Amazon Deliveries Drivers Can Be Hired at Any Age

You must be at least 21 to become a driver for Amazon.

Amazon has established age restrictions for delivery drivers. This is primarily for insurance reasons. It’s more reassuring that drivers have had a lot of driving experience than somebody who only recently got their driver’s license.

Drivers with Amazon Delivery Service Partners don’t need a special driver’s license but they do need to show proof of being at least 21 years old.

Amazon frequently advertises delivery driver positions. These applicants must meet the minimum age requirements, pass background checks and undergo drug tests to be considered for employment.

  • Conclusion
  • Amazon provides a very attractive start pay for all employees at $15/hour. This is in addition to bonuses, raises, benefits and many other benefits.

Amazon doesn’t hire anyone younger than 18 years, although teens may be looking for work in the 15-16 age range.

Amazon is best to hire adult workers than minors, due to federal and state labor laws. Amazon doesn’t allow students from high schools to apply, but those with high school diplomas and GEDs can still apply for thousands upon thousands of positions.

Amazon Warehouses require that you are at least 18 years old to operate, while Amazon Delivery Drivers must be 21.
